Description For this demonstration, I used the lovable loon, 2D of the band Gorillaz! ^^ This method works in Photoshop, Gimp and most other programmes that enable layers.

Follow these six easy steps and you'll have your own character(s) nicely drawn in a matter of hours to a couple days!

Having difficulty getting the colours to mesh against the outline?
Try putting the coloured layers beneath the outline. :3
If you are still having difficulty, I suggest you switch the layer type to "multiply" or "overlay".

Awesome! I'm so happy I can help out (even if it's in the future)!
If you have any other questions when you get PhotoShop, I'd be happy to answer them to the best of my ability. ^^ I took a college class specifically for PS 5.

Well, if you're into art, I completely suggest PhotoShop. Once you get the hang of it, it works wonders for your creations! *,*

Layers can be a bother, but also really handy if they're organised.

I now using layers!

Nah, you should be happy most of your focus is on getting good grades. :<
That's the reason I don't do well in school; I'm mucking about with pencils and paper all the time. :,o

I just dont have the time nor attention span, i guess, to draw except in class...oh wait, I dont think that's helping. I'm a terrible procrastinator. Noisy Neighbors doesnt help me regulate my sleep patter. So i end up staying up and doing my homework. Bah.

The fact is, though, you actually get it done. *self pity*
I've honestly never put that much toward academics. :<

...sometimes there have been serious close calls about shit being done, or having it printed off...or something like that...I'm not a perfect student...dont worry.

I don't want to meet the person who is a perfect student. I bet they'd be so fake. O__e;

Actually, I'm pretty sure all you have to do is plug the tablet in to a USB port and it'll work just like that. I think that's all it takes to use it... I could be mistaken, though.

This is really handy... I suck at using Gimp/any drawing program/any drawing method on or off of the computer. Thank you for putting it up!

krazorspoon In reply to KanoUshiri [2012-02-16 07:53:53 +0000 UTC]

Of course! It'd be ignorant to let the layers from that project go to waste when there are people who might use it for help.
