Here's a comparison of the new Twilight poster and a Phantom of the Opera picture. Hmm... Look similar, don't they? Except for the fact that the Twilight poster looks so fake.
I hate how airbrushed their faces look. More CG then actual picture. Bleh.Anyway, I just found this interesting.

Yes! Thank you! I wish people realized that both Erik and Edward are both very similar. Yes, I know that Edward is a vampire, while Erik is not. Erik seems very vampire-like, though. And yes, Edward is supposed to be beautiful while Erik is supposed to be hideous. But characteristic wise, they're practically the same person. Except, Edward gets Bella in the end, and Erik is abandoned.
I used to be a huge fan of Twilight, but now I'm a PHAN instead.
I think people hate Twilight merely because Edward sparkles, and the fact that it was also so popular. As for Edward's sparkly appearance, get over it, people! You might as well be hating on Erik just for having a deformity, or wearing a mask. It's no different. Hating someone because of their appearance? Geez.
And as much of a Phan that I am, I still don't think that Erik would win in a fight with Edward. I'm sorry, but Edward would definitely win. The books describe him being as hard as a rock, and cannot die from anything, except from an open wound being lit on fire. Erik's Punjab lasso would do zip. Even if Erik was a vampire, I still don't think he could win the fight. Edward is a mind reader. He would know everything that Erik would've been planning. Unless if Erik was gifted with a similar gift, I don't think the fight would last real long.
Well, with that being said, I'm still Team Erik!

To tell the truth, in the movies, even Bella's love looks fake! D:< That's is pretty the only thing I hate about the Twilight movies.

I gotta admit, i do like the comparison you made, however i cant say that i like the twilight poster very much... i can accept that vampires are meant to be pale, but the guy in the picture is so pale its crazy... the people look like they have been created using photoshop or something...
But i gotta say this, i have read some of the twilight series, and though i'm not racing out to buy the 4th book i didnt think it was to bad either... i guess for some people its like the next harry potter craze or something... lol

Yea, I find the poster to looked really photoshopped too. For me it's mostly their eyes though - they look so flat in values. I remember hearing that they didn't do much to edit it, but I find that pretty hard to believe.
Truthfully I didn't find the books that terrible either, but the hype around them drives me crazy! I keep hearing about it being the next Harry Potter as well, especially since it has taken the next HP movie release date in November.

haha, i hate when things get turned into a major hype like what happened with harry potter (sorry if you like it, but it was out of control!)... i mean, i dont mind if a book gets turned into a movie or anything like that, but there is a point where its like 'argh, enough!!!' lol

And I've read a lot of vampire books in my time so I don't really find Twilight that impressive... Pretty inventive, sure, and not a bad book, but I'm too fond of the traditional view of vampires to really get obsessed about it. Not to mention the Twilight fangirls drive me freakin' insane! D:<

Haha! No kidding! I prefer my dear old Lestat to Edward any day, thank you very much and those fangirls are actually pretty aggressive when it comes to defending what they like and I'm trying to decide whether it's brainwashing or just plain immaturity.
