I hope you enjoy this massive effort we put down, this player is extremely functional and usable, and every little detail was payed attention to closely. There are tons of features included in this skin, and it is beyond fully loaded. Lots of people put hours of work into making this happen, so hopefully our efforts can be respected within the graphical and developmental communities. The skin started out a pure eye candy, but now it is eye candy and a working theme, the best of both worlds.
Promo Picture Information //
The song playing is "Vanishing" by "A Perfect Circle" from the album "Thirteenth Step" - They are one of the greatest bands of all time, with a total cult-like fan base
The visualization chosen is called "Eo. S. - starburst 01" and it is from the "MilkDrop 2.0d" visualizations pack. It is included in all new versions of Winamp, so you probably already have it. Open Winamp's preferences, go down toe "Plug-ins", and select "Visualization". Next, click on "MilkDrop 2.0d" and press "Start". Now, open up the visualizations box, press "L" on your keyboard, and scroll down to "Eo. S. - starburst 01". They are listed alphabetically, so just press "F", and then press up on your keyboard once to select ""Eo. S. - starburst 01". Now, just press Enter and then press Esc. ENJOY!
Design //
This is my most advanced project to date. I made so many different versions of this player, that I cannot even remember making most of them. It started out as a personal growth experiment with advanced layering and lighting techniques, but after a few hours, I felt like I was onto something.
Development //
People started to suggest that I have it skinned for use, and I said "Ok, I'll look into it" or something along those lines... but I actually did. And several weeks later, it was starting to develop. There was a major period of time when the player wasn't be made, but several events inspired it to get started again. I want to properly thank the developers for here for making something incredible out of my idea. It is even better than I imagined it, and I have The Skin Consortium to thank for that. So, here is a huge block of links to their website:

Wow. I don't use modern skins but if I would, I would definitely download yours

Thanks Maybe check out the skin again when v2 is done, I will have more modes to play with, and one of them will have a more classic feel to it, with simple rounded squares

Thanks, but my reason aren't the looks, it's the memory consumed by Winamp with modern skins. I have it running almost all the time I work on my computer and I like it not to slow down other applications, not talking about the ugly "effect" of redrawing the skin when I restore Winamp from the taskbar after a while when using modern skins... Good job though

it seems the most recent winamp update won't let me use this skin. do you know a way to get it to work?

Hey there. I just installed the latest version (5.53) and it works fine over here. What exactly happens when you try to use it?
Also, if that does not work, try to re-download it from here, I uploaded a newer version one or two days ago.

Two questions:
1.) Are you using 5.53?
2.) Does this happen with any other skins, or just KrazyPlayer?
-------
Aside from that, you could also try this:
1.) Close Winamp.
2.) Go to the Winamp folder inside the program files folder.
3.) Delete the file "studio.xnf" (Don't worry though, it comes back next time you open Winamp, its totally safe )
4.) Then, go into the Skins folder and delete "krazyPlayer.wal"
5.) Download a fresh copy of the skin from here on DA, extract the zip, and open the file.
This should make it work. Let me know if it doesn't.
Peace

just krazy player. I'm currently using the Bento skin and it's working just fine.
I'm using the most up-to-date version. I THINK it was called 5.53.

You can find the version number by right clicking anywhere on winamp and clicking the first link in the right click menu. It will say the version number there. But that shouldn't matter if you do the other steps.
Did you try the 5 steps on the bottom? That should work no matter what.

studio.xnf doesn't seem to exist =/

krazytim In reply to Xelioth [2008-04-01 06:52:03 +0000 UTC]
Try it with skipping step 4 then.
But it should be C:\Program Files\Winamp\studio.xnf - maybe search the programs folder for "studio.xnf"
It should work even without that step though.

Xelioth In reply to krazytim [2008-04-01 07:57:37 +0000 UTC]
don't have a studio.xnf on my entire computer. I went ahead and searched for it when you suggested deleting it and I couldn't find it...
and just deleting the old skin and reinstalling it doesn't help with or without closing winamp before-hand.

krazytim In reply to Xelioth [2008-04-04 13:30:42 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, I'm not sure what else to try. Deleting it should fix the problem always, I've never ran into a problem with winamp skins like that before.
I guess for now, just wait until the next version comes out, maybe it'll work then. No one else has had this problem, so it isn't anything with the skin that I know of. I'm sorry I can't help you better, I really want it to work for ya
The only other things I can think of are too much out of the way, like reinstalling winamp, and I'm not gonna suggest that kind of stuff just to make one skin work.
Sorry again, thanks for trying though!
peace

yeah, I guess I'll just do the waiting for an upgrade thing. might consider reinstalling as it wouldn't be TOO much of a hassle, really....eh, either way, thanks for trying at least.

If you just can't wait, I think the re-installation might be work trying, I'm sure it won't be a huge hassle, I just didn't want to sound rude by suggesting it
I hope you can getting working at some point

all that happens is that it doesn't load. it just goes to the default skin. I'll try the new version now though.

I suppose some would call it tech interface design. I consider it many types of digital art: sleek, dark, tech, advanced, interface, futuristic, conceptual, etc. Its one of my favorite art forms

I've just downloaded and using your skin at this present moment and I have to say its a beautiful skin. My only real grudge is there aren't "secondary players" in the player if that makes sense? Like different player sizes to pick from so theres a bit more option to pick from. Other then that its a lovely skin ... theres even song crossfading, always been a bigg fan of that hehe.
Congrats on a job well done.
