Description
"Fichs Eisenknie" (Original Title)This is my newest Artwork done for a good friend of mine who is a big "Lord of the Rings" and "Hobbit" Fan.
The Dwarfs and Gimli in particular are his favourite characters so I decided to make him a Dwarf in Tolkien's Middle-Earth.
His signature Weapon is... his knee?! Yes it is!
Besides his big Axe and probably several other, throwable weapons he wields a deadly, spiked knee-armor piece that has sealed the fate of countless Orcs and Goblins.
I am nowhere near to call myself a Tolkien-expert but I tried to throw in quite a few hints at storys from both the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit.
In this quest I relied heavily on the movies and their look.
The only real reference used for this were a couple of pictures of my friends face, so I could catch his appearance while still make him a proud Dwarf.
To be honest:
Looking at the Thumbnail I get the impression the lighting might just be a tad off, but what the heck!
I'm quite happy with the result given the fact that it pretty much went there from nothing...
And it is probably the most complex and time consuming piece I've painted so far.
