All I had was a tube of black acrylic but I agree, it turned out great, I may try to do more soon. I can't wait to get some white acrylic and try on some mahagony or some other darker wood. Already got a few things in mind.

I've got a sh*tload of paint, but've more or less gone over to posca markers instead - basically paint in a pen. They do really well on wood, and looks good. (friend of mine did this with markers: [link] )And I'm a lot better at drawing than painting.
As for the sig, this is not the best example, I usually do the sig bigger and the 06 smaller and closer together, but you'll get the idea here: [link]

wow, that "remix" piece by your friend is insane. I used to use paintmarkers back-in-the-day on RC Cars. I may have to look back into those. HAHA

oh wow, that's awesome. well, my dad ran owned a hobby shop when I was growing up, so, it was mostly for fun. Had a few little "meets" around where we lived. I still have my Clodbuster truck. HAHA
