!!! I thought you actually intended in prison thing for some unknown reason when I first saw this... o__o' But anyway, you managed the colouring perfectly--I took it for a piece of official art at a glance. I've been trying to make something in this style too, but I can't get the gradients right... DX
Almost no problems at all with Souji's fringe (which is usually the trickiest part--it gotta have that fluffy look), and all round wonderful job at the hair. The only thing I need to suggest is that the hair at the back of his neck in the pic's second half should be a little longer (I'm a sucker for details...).
As for background...it's hard to find faults. Which is a good thing. The lighting looks so natural... Oh, but that railing right beside Souji would likely do better with a little thicker outline, to set it apart from the buildings further back. Say, maybe around the same thickness you use for Souji's outline.

Well, that's enough ranting. Overall, doubtlessly a good work!

Wow! That does look like Soejima's style! Especially in the eyes! Nice work, Kring!

That background is super-impressive, by the way - so much detail! (I stink at backgrounds, which is why I almost never draw them. But this really gives the moment a sense of time and place!) And I love his shirt, especially the very subtle folds around his torso...very realistic, even in this anime style.

What is it about Asian boys/men, that they can so easily pull off that V-neck look?
