Description As an experiment of drawing using a Silhouette as a base, I drew one of my fan concepts, an idea for an Infestation Assassin type unit.

Took me a while, but I feel it looks good.

Warframe is a very interesting game. It's not the most perfect game, but it does definitely deserve a lot of praise. It is almost completely free to play, with money only being used to progress faster or gain cosmetics, but everything else is attainable.

Its art styles and overall themes do remind me of Bionicle as well. It's just one of those kinds of strange and interesting realms that follows under some very alien concepts. Plus, all the art styles in the game are incredible, composed mostly of a sort of painted-looking techno-organic pattern.

Just, overall, it's pretty cool.

I've heard its free. Upgrading your computer isn't though. >~< And PS4's aren't free either... eegh...

I love alien concepts! Over the past two years, I've really gotten interested in sci-fi, with combinations of modern time, mecha, and bio-organic, and even some magic systems thrown in. Warframe is definitely one of those I have to try for experience. (There are many things to be learned from video games.... XD)

I'm testing out some of my own stories and making my own aliens, but I've never posted them because I wanted to be sure in their design. Their individual personalities seemed to change with their forms though... so they were fickle to pin down. I was so close to finishing them- but then I saw Warframe and realized my concepts weren't so original. This has happened so many times before, inventing one thing, and then it popping up somewhere else. e~e Though it frustrates me terribly, it is a good warning to help me revise my concepts to make them more original.
Ironically enough, this is often what addicts me to certain games and stories- finding something that relates to my own.
Because i want to be better than what I like. MWUAHAHAa- *gag-cough*

I write, so... *shrug* I tend to go in depth with my characters and backgrounds. I know what warframe characters look like, but I have no clue the story, so I figure I need to check that out as well to make sure there aren't any elements in my own story that relate. I'm also hoping it will reinvigorate me in some way... I've come into a bit of a writing rut with the particular story. e~e If I can find something to help me see the story in a different light, it may help me to come up with more concepts for it, and maybe even reinvent it. I'm very certain it will be something no one has seen before once I manage it.

To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised you've even heard of Bionicle. BROFIST You know, my MOM actually loved those books? She was a total fangirl. It was awesome! She'd tell me about it when I got home from school about this awesome fight between these two powerful characters, and all this lore- it was fun. XD I like imagining the Bionicle as semi organic beings- I think there was a mentioning in the books about a black material like skin, and their armor like an exoskeleton....?
P8 Should draw that sometime.

You know, it was actually somebody on youtube named TheBob that recommended me to your deviantart. Totally random how that can work. XD

Oh yeah, anything computer or console related is going to be expensive. Maybe some day it'll be so streamlined that it becomes inexpensive to everyone, but that's probably some time from now.

Well, Warframe doesn't feature any aliens (unless a certain group in the game turn out to be aliens, but current context suggests otherwise), I meant more that it delved into strange and very foreign ideas. Even if you don't play the game, most of the story and lore are out there, if you're not afraid to spoil it for yourself. Warframe has definitely inspired a lot of my own concepts, even acting as a point where I know it has been done so I do something else instead.

Naturally, designs evolve over time, so not posting because they're not solid is kind of a silly concept, but hey that's your prerogative. Most of my drawings aren't even what my mind sees, but is only my hand's best attempt to replicate it. Over time, my hand get's better at recreating what my mind sees, and then I draw whatever I drew again, but improved and usually closer to its true vision. I guess if you're drawing them at all, though, that's good, as practice does truly make perfect.

Originality is hard to obtain, especially considering how old the human race is and how many imaginative minds have existed in that time. Most of everything in this day and age is just a clever innovation on a previous concept, which isn't bad, but it is true as far as I have come to understand it. However, I find many of my concepts, especially the ones I keep to myself, are pretty close to original.
My advice: think abstractly. Try thinking of realms that do not adhere to the rules of ours'. Just asking the question of what existences lay beyond my understanding has been a great catalyst into some unique thought. Abstract thinking in general has helped me in all creative expression, from drawing, to writing, to game-design. If you don't already, I'd recommend doing so, as it may lead you to some incredible ideas.
Plus, reading and enjoying existing work is positive as well, because it inspires thought and it let's you see what's been done so you can innovate or attempt to invent something new. A good author has always found inspiration in something else to write their work, even when that work has not been writing.

If you ever want to, I'm up for collaborating on ideas, as I love sharing what I think, from my own creations to my thoughts on others' work, at least as long as I know I have something constructive to say, so if you ever want to run something by someone, I'm around to take a look.

That's pretty awesome. My mom wasn't really into what I was interested in growing up, however I have gotten her to understand what I do and she no longer associates it with negativity, which is great.
Bionicles are easily my favorite childhood toy. And the books and lore were pretty incredible as well. I'm not sure they inspired much of my own design, but maybe subconsciously they have. As for what they are, I think it's heavily suggested they're sort of fusions of organic and mechanical parts; it's even heavily suggested by the title itself: 'Bio-Mechanical' ; 'Bionicle'.

Makes sense that the Bob sent you my way because he's actually a very close friend of mine in real-life. We hang out just about every other weekend to play games and write out incredible stories with intricate plot, and lore for my game concepts. He's a pretty awesome and creative guy.

Sorry for the late reply! I've had a lot on my plate. P8

Computers. e`e I know the feels of expensive. I feel mugged. One upgrade after the other, and they aren't always good for it....

I kinda wanna spoil it because I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to play it, but at the same time, I don't know if I'm gonna love it even after I spoil it, because that was only ever the case with Kingdom Hearts, I watched the story, and then I got the game and a PS2 miraculously  a week after I watched it on youtube and I still loved it unconditionally. T^T

I can tell its inspired you, the results are pretty awesome, man. BROFIST

not what your mind sees? Yeah, I know them feels as well. e~e I'm REALLY trying though. Cause what's in my mind is USUALLY cooler. Or at least, that's the case more recently.... but the only way to get better is to destroy the walls that defy you. O^O And one other thing I recently discovered: When in doubt, ROBOT.

You develop your style the more you draw. Its natural.

Alternate realities, and abstract and gravity? Yeah. Most people tell me otherwise, its hard to keep in that mindset because people want RULES that are familiar to them. That's the challenge. Creating rules that can be used, but having others accept is the challenge. I don't really care all too much about what others think about a world that I've spent years on creating when they've only glimpsed specks, and can't appreciate the beauty, but I'm up for improvement all the time. If you think about it: DIFFERENT REALITIES: FISH DON'T THRIVE IN THE AIR LIKE HUMANS well, what if something LIKE fish did? I love the ff12 fish of the sandsea. XD does that mean there are creatures that are able to live in crazier environments? We wouldn't understand it until we actually discovered it. That's a problem a lot of times with science nowadays. They say something can't happen, and it happens, and they restudy their notes, and realize: "THERE WAS A FLAW IN CALCULATIONS" Of course, fish can fly, but... you know, they hit the water again.

D; I wanna keep things realistic, but I think I know what you mean. I can actually draw humans better when I draw them in the aspect: "THEY LOOK HUMAN" but aren't necessarily human. Honestly, the most human people I've ever been able to draw is my being in that mindset, and acting as though I were drawing a dragon, or some alien creature whose anatomy was something only I understood, and not what the world expected of it.

If that makes sense.

*Sigh* its all a matter of applying yourself and making the time for it.

Reading/seeing others ideas is a good opportunity to look at your own reflection and see of yourself what you want to be. In aspects of the idea your reading/seeing, better in this aspect, or more like.

Collaborating? That would be cool sometime. Me too!

Really? I guess I'm lucky. My mom and I always stayed up reading fantasy books and playing video games till we fell asleep. ;D

A lot of things of the past tend to influence someone so greatly that they don't often realize until YEARS later and your like almost grown up. Just the other day, I realized why I loved watching One Punch-Man and superheroes so much. I had a baby blanket that was red and blue: Spider-man, Super-man, etc. One Punch-Man: Caillou from that kids show (when I was in like Kindergarten) I never realized they had the same color patterns until I saw some comparison images. XD

"Bio-mechanical" Yerp. Nuff said. Actually, NOT NUFF SAID I love playing with that concept so much... I don't know much about it, but I love writing about what I don't understand, but as I write it I learn more about it because I'll do all this research and fantasy scenarios and by the time I'm done, my brain is usually fried, and I'll usually rhyme too. 9~6 Its a fascinating concept on the Verge of magic and science!

Oh yeah? You and Bob are friends? That's cool! You two sound like me and my other friend. We usually meet up and write stories and collaborate every few days. ;D I won't be seeing much of them for a few months though because of college. 6_6 I'll be a hermit living off of the internet and measly deer sausage because I'm too lazy to come up with anything elaborate because I have too short an attention span to not go back and write or draw some magical concept or watch more cartoons and anime... P8 and by the time that's done, I've burned the food. But I stay and wait, and I daydream. And then the food burns still. XD
