So lucky!!!! I collect bones as a hobby and would just die if I found a horse skull!
(Also, never use bleach to clean bones because it never fully leaves the bones and will break them down into dust over time. Use 70% hydrogen peroxide instead.)

Also, when your trying to clean bones, submerge the bone in the solution and check it regularly (every few minutes). You can always do less cleaning now and make up for it later, but you can never over cook a bone and reverse the results. Over cooking the bone will result in it becoming fragile and delicate parts will begin to crumble. I lost a pig skull due to over cooking it in peroxide and wound up with half the skull (of course the skull was in there for far, FAR long than it should have been.)

Actually, the % I put was wrong. It's more like 6% or something. In short, just use the peroxide that's carried by most pharmacies, like RiteAid. Peroxide is infamous for volatilizing (turning into a gas) above a certain concentration (not dangerous, just, well... bothersome.) I didn't realize the actual percentage when I was typing this comment (I think the 70% was misremembered and came off of another bottle, like bleach or something... heavens if I know.) I apologize for the confusion.

Regardless of if that's a cow or horse skeleton, if I would have seen this deviation sooner, I definitely woulda paid you to collect the skull and bones and ship 'em to me.
