I.
Beyond the forest's edge, there was a steep cliff, and then the vast, calm sea. Celebi rarely ventured out of the forests in the summertime, the harsh sunlight was unpleasant to her. But this day was cloudy and a cooling breeze was blowing from the sea.
She followed the cliff for a while, spanning a large stretch of the peninsula's southern edge. On the narrow space between the sea and the mountains, humans had built a road for their wheeled vehicles. In this era, they called the peninsula Galida and liked to gather there mostly in the summer months. Celebi saw several vehicles on the road, but their steady movement didn't keep her attention for long. She floated up the mountainside, intrigued by the tracks a large Pokémon must have had left behind. As the slope of the mountain turned smoother, the mossy rocks were replaced by a richer vegetation, even with trees sprinkled here and there. Dedenne and other small Pokémon scurried through the grass. Sadly, the tracks ended on the blank rock of a small field of crevices. Celebi had really wanted to find out what Pokémon it was.
Taking a deep breath and shaking out her small wings, she looked around for other impressions to follow. She had just decided to turn back and watch the Dedenne for a bit, when she heard a cry, followed by a loud cracking noise. Quickly she spun around and flew into the direction the noise had come from.
At one of the wider crevices, she came to a halt. On its edge, there were loose rocks, and at the bottom of it, there lay a Skiddo, covered in more rocks and with its neck bent to an unnatural angle. It was dead.
Celebi softly landed next to the Skiddo and stroked its face. It still felt normal now, but very soon it wouldn't be warm anymore. The Pokémon was so tiny, it had still been young. So much potential wasted, so many beautiful moments unlived. This wasn't right. This shouldn't have happened.
She launched herself up, hid in a different crevice, and with a snap of two fingers, she travelled a few moments back in time. There was the Skiddo, wandering the rocky field.
"You shouldn't go past here, it's dangerous. The ground isn't stable."
The Skiddo blinked at her, of course it had never seen such an odd Pokémon before. But she must have seemed trustworthy enough, since it turned in a different direction, towards safer grounds.
Another good deed done.
Welcome to the official NOCT2 plot!
Which I am completely responsible for. So I'm really nervous now haha ;w;
It's going to be pretty wild. Maybe you can already tell in which direction this is going.
There will be 3 more Prologue parts, I'll post them as I finish the illustrations. They were going to be in greyscale but I have no idea how to do greyscale. So everyone wins. It's also nice to know that I could probably paint a decent landscape if I put some time into it. (This looks so nice in the thumbnail ahahaha) xD
Please don't critique the writing, English isn't my native language. Edited by CyMoahk , so you don't get stabbed in the eye by gross grammar violations~
Stay tuned for the parts in which actual things happen. Your characters are going to suffer, and now that I know them I feel a little bad. 3
