Placed in TV/Movies because if I put it in Manga it will get moved. Even though this is directly from the Inuyasha manga. Go figure.
This is basically my re-draw of the following manga page from chapter 557: [link]
This image in itself isn't a spoiler, but it IS the moment immediately after the jewel has been destroyed in the manga. The text on the page says "It's over...", thus the title. Inuyasha and Kagome have been inside the jewel (or I guess that's the limbo where they've been) and they are floating in the middle of a lot of white nothing at this moment.
NEXT WEEK IS THE FINAL CHAPTER. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THIS. I HAVE DEVOTED SIX YEARS TO THIS SERIES. D:

Um... I dunno... Less than 2 hours, I think. Probably more like an hour and a half or less. It's the coloring part that takes forever, not the pencil.

Man, i am so glad you gave that link. It doesn't connect right upto when the series ended, but it's close enough. I'm finally caught up! *spazes* and i'm in the same position: i've devoted so much to this anime, it's about flippin' time it's over. Any idea when it'll be posted?

Is it sad that I like this version better than the manga version? I can't wait to see a colored version.
I'm not sure how to take the ending myself. I'm super excited to see what happens since we've all waited for so long, but at the same time it's a little depressing. It's the same feeling I had waiting for the final episode of Buffy, haha.

Yes, I do. That lead has a slightly waxy texture to it that lets me get some great line quality and gradations but at the same time I can get sharp lines if I hold it at a certain angle.

Nope, it wouldn't. I'm in the middle of coloring it myself. lol
And I also have a general personal policy that I don't really like to let other people color my stuff, particularly since some of my stuff isn't meant to be colored.

Next to when they see each other after Inuyasha tears a portal to reunite with Kagome within the jewel (so sweet how she touched him to prove to herself it wasn't an illussion), this rendition of the last page had to be the most touching scene, ever.

I really like your drawing better than the orginal page... But thank you for showing me that link to the translations! I don't really read InuYasha anymore and I was completely flipping out when I saw this. I was reading the earlier chapters and (while screaming like an insane fangirl) kept thinking that it was a bit like some of the fanfictions I've read... except the whole getting sucked into the Shikon no Tama... I guess someone had to get it right!
Lol anyway, awesome drawing. I'll be anxiously waiting the colored version!

It has never been said in the manga that Kagome needed the jewel fragments to get back and forth in time; it's only the anime the said that and thus it's not canon (as a lot of the anime isn't). When Kagome was sucked into the jewel via a Meidou when Naraku died, the well on both sides of time disappeared anyway.

I LOVE your drawing though, omgoodness! I love their expressions, and how Kagome is holding into Inuyasha and despite the situation hes all collected. Very very nice linework as well. Love that soft blue you use.

UUUGGGHHHH I JUST READ THAT CHAPTER AND I AM FREAKING OUT CUZ IT'S ACTUALLY ENDING. I don't know how to handle this EITHER. I think I just assumed that Inuyasha would just.. NEVER end. This chapter was so.. TOUCHING. And you beat me to it, drawing it. Darn you. It's a beautiful adaptation, btw. I will definitely be drawing some from the last chapter.
I really want Rumiko-san to do some happy chapters where, you know, Miroku and Sango ACTUALLY get married, and Inu and Kag ACTUALLY kiss. For real.
