Placed in TV/Movies because if I put it in Manga it will get moved. Even though this is directly from the Inuyasha manga. Go figure.
This is basically my re-draw of the following manga page from chapter 557: [link]
This image in itself isn't a spoiler, but it IS the moment immediately after the jewel has been destroyed in the manga. The text on the page says "It's over...", thus the title. Inuyasha and Kagome have been inside the jewel (or I guess that's the limbo where they've been) and they are floating in the middle of a lot of white nothing at this moment.
NEXT WEEK IS THE FINAL CHAPTER. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THIS. I HAVE DEVOTED SIX YEARS TO THIS SERIES. D:

Yes... after lots and lots and lots and lots of stuff happening before that. And really when you think about it, it's the only "safe" wish to make.

The show doesn't do the manga justice. The anime messed with a bunch of little details that make a HUGE difference, especially to the IY/Kagome pairing. That and the English dub absolutely butchered it between Viz's translations and the acting... which is why I refuse to watch anything but the Japanese with subtitles on the DVDs or read anything but scanlations. Viz loves to screw with stuff.
Rumor has it that the anime is going to start back up again within the next year or so now that the manga is finished. The Japanese producer has only ever referred to the show as being "on hiatus" because it had caught up to the manga at the time.

I can't believe it's ending... InuYasha was such an integral part of my teenage years, much like Harry Potter. I was an emotional wreck when Deathly Hallows came out, how am I going to feel reading the final chapter of InuYasha?

You captured that moment just beautifully! I'm sad to see it end, but at the same time I can't help but think "Finally!" But that's just because I've been waiting for an update every week for the last year or so. But if I started reading it again from the beginning, I would probably think it ended too quickly. Can't get enough of that dog-eared boy after all.

I need some closure on this. Inuyasha was my first love in the world of manga and anime and I'll be damned if Rumiko pulls off another RanmaΒ½. All fans of Inuyasha deserve to see a proper ending after the long journey that lasted 12 years. But I gather that "Maison Ikkoku" would be too much asking. :/

Well... the epilogue next week is supposed to be "three years later". The last time I know of that she skipped forward in time was Maison. By then Kagome would be 18-19. The hopeless fangirl in me hopes for a wedding. Or something. Why else would she fast forward to a time when Kagome would be finished with high school?

I am totally with you on how am I going to handle this series being over. I think I am probably going to cry for awhile and then feel happy that I finally know what happened to these characters who have been part of my life for so long. I love your re-draw, and next week THE FINAL CHAPTER. I am nervous........

I love that page, and your picture just as much. Actually, I think your style is even better. Just something about it. ^^It just seems to fit the characters all the better. (love Rumiko to death still)
I nearly cried when I saw that page. I was just waiting for something else to happen...then it did. I knew Rumiko couldn't just let it be. Well, at least next chapter is going to be the end.
