Why do they "I see you"? Why not "I love you", "You're one of us"?

I'm going to sound like a real geek, but it's only the closest translation that the humans have for the Na'vi's phrase: "Oel ngati kameie" which means "I see into you." It's not a direct translation of "I love you." It's a greeting, like "hello", but respectful.

I mean they say it even after being around someone for a good. If I was in an accident but I survived and a friend satyed with me and then he/she would suddenly say "I see you" I would find it weird and awkward.

I love it when they say that to each other! Its adorable! I loved the fact that Jake faught with the Na'vi against the humans. Loved that movie.

Same here! Its such a sad yet happy movie when they can finally be together at the end. It just shows how heartless and mis judging the human race can be. I was glad when Neytiri found out that he was alive when she sees his human form. Such a beautiful movie!
