In loving memory of my praying mantis SoothSlayer.For those curious, yes, that is an intentional misspelling of the word Soothsayer.
She was a feisty little bug full of spirit, and I always pictured her running around reeking mischief with a giant scythe in claw.

The eyes are sort of scary, but she is still very cute and may she rest in peace. I like what you did and how the lighting of the wings and the scythe sort of light the front of her up. Very good

And I could so picture SoothSlayer doing that. Luring the other insects in with promises of a tale only to devour them for dinner once she was done telling the story. XD

Yep, she was a great bug. Really all you could ask for in a mantis.
Sweetheart when being handled, and a skillful hunter. She also loved to watch tv, especially sci fi monster bug movies.

Surprisingly seems most my mantises enjoy TV. They are such visual creatures they get drawn to all the flashy lights. Half the time they also get the overpowering urge to get even more up close and personal and end up insisting on climbing on my TV screen. This is not good because they leave little mantis foot prints in the inch layer of dust collected there... reminding me yet again I really should dust.

Mantises aren't exactly known for their family togetherness... especially since Soothy ate one of her siblings before I separated her from her brothers and sisters as a wee little nymph.
