Gambit / Remy LeBeau is my favorite MARVEL characters.
I'm glad that I collected and keep the comic book series, watched the animated series (including the episodes that are involved), and played as them in MARVEL vs CAPCOM series 2 with air combos.

I gotta wonder - how come Gambit never updated his costume? I think he's the only X-Man who never has.

He changed it slightly I think once during the X-Treme X-Men era of the early 2000s, but he went back to his original after a while.

It was the Grant Morrison run on "New X-Men" era. I really didn't read a lot of it outside of the Morrison stuff, but I saw bits and pieces crossed over.

Yeah, I started reading comics after the Morrison era, but I got some of it on trade and... just... yuck. I quickly learned to hate Morrison. I don't get what people see in him.

He's definitely a love him or hate him writer. I've always dug him, I just like his style of writing and weird, out there ideas, but I've been reading his stuff since the early 90s with his Animal Man run and Arkham Asylum graphic novel (that really put him on the map in the late 80s) so I've been accustomed to his stuff since then when it was something "special" in the midst of all the Rob Liefeld-esque big guns and pouches and no story type books of the late 80s, early 90s. its just sorta stuck with me since then I guess.

Since I've only been reading comics for under a decade I haven't seen his earlier stuff. All I know is that when he tries to write humorous dialogue it always makes me feel dirty.
