Description A Series of Unfortunate Events
The Enevitable Ending
Part 8

Violet was soon packed up for a vacation at Briny Beach. She wasn't looking forward to it, she didn't want to return to the place were her misfortune started. She didn't want to imagine her siblings and her coming down to the beach to enjoy a great afternoon here, leaving her parents to their own unknown unfortunate end. She didn't want the guilt that she tried to surpress for years come tumbling back to her.

Fiona stayed behind with Beatrice, saying she was still busy packing, when everyone else left. She was planning to come to the vacation house at 11'o clock. By then, Violet would have a bed somewhere in the house. They both knew this was risky, but this was a way better plan then hiding her in a suitcase. Soon Violet was in a car behind Olaf, Esme, Carmelita, and the rest of Olaf's associates. She felt cramped and was happy when she finally collapsed on the ground when the car finally arrived. She couldn't stand the greasy and barely breathable air or one more song about how good Carmelitta was anyway.

Grabbing her own suitcase, she walked to her wing of the house, unpacked, then explored the house. It was like a manor, with a chandelair in the dining room, a jucozee, servants, and a fireplace. Violet wondered why a beach house was so fancy. It may not even be used very often.

Anyway, after she looked through the house to think of a new invention, she brought a desk into her room, then attached a hidden compartment, big enough for Beatrice. She put a pillow for a bed, adding a dish towel for a blanket. She took a step back to admire her work. It was a very simple device, with airholes and an emergency exit. Hoping it would work, she walked outside to get some air.

When Violet stepped on to the deck around eleven o'clock, all she saw was fog. Squinting hard, she could see the exact spot were her miserable adventure started. She could almost see the mysterious figure of Mr. Poe emerging from the fog. Her rock skipping machine was half-sunk in the murky waters.

"Very familiar, my Countess?" a scratchy voice said behind her. Violet was so used to this voice, sadly, that she didn't even flinch.

"We may be married, Olaf, but I refuse to be your Countess," Violet said without turning around. Sad memories were filling her head and she had to take a deep breath so she wouldn't cry.

"You know, you're starting to grow on me, Violet," Olaf said, a little irratated. "I never thought an smarty-pants orphan like you was so likable." He looked her up and down. "Although you look different from when I first saw you." Violet laughed quietly to herself.

"I'm almost twenty-one. I'm not fourteen years old anymore." She looked out at her rock skipping machine, and almost swore she saw someone chuck a rock at the machine and had it so it chucked the rock at Olaf.

Now Violet remembered that she never fixed the machine so it wouldn't hit someone in the head, so she ducked. Olaf ended up unconcious. Violet laughed, then waved to the person on the beach, when she was poked by by Fiona. She was holding a beach blanket, the tiny face of Beatrice staring at her.

"There you are! Come on, let's take a walk on the beach." Violet led Fiona, who was very confused, and Beatrice, who was looking for seashells in the fog. Violet had started walking slowly, but soon the small person turned into two people, and then three more appeared. Violet ran to the two people she always tried to protect. They ran to her, not carring if they fell.

"Violet!"

"Klaus! Sunny!"

The three Baudelaires collided and fell in a heap. They laughed and cried, Violet's heart swelling. Fiona, Beatrice, and the Quagmire triplets watched while the three of them held onto each other.
