Another messy rakugaki, that I thought up after making the first one XD [link] I guess it's a continuation?? I wasn't gonna finish and submit this one, but I figured maybe it'd be good to have one version with Vergil's reaction. Or something like that (=w=Anyway. I kinda feel sorry for the guy this time lol, but Vergil is pretty merciless >_<; I guess he doesn't approve of the new guy either. :I
While I'm at it, as much as I love Dante, I think it'd be awesome to see Vergil appear in the series again. They're both my faves
though maybe Vergil a bit more...IDK <:3Well, I think I'll cut this 'Dante' some slack for a bit ...unless something else comes to mind...

I guess that's somewhat of a relief, but what's the point of wasting resources and money on an experiment, when the the majority of DMC fans have already voiced their dislike of the new character and direction? =/ Seems pointless to me, so they might as well make a totally new game IMO...
I didn't know what they meant by 'Western feel' at first. Was it the development team being outside of Asia, or, the characters aren't 'Western' enough? :S What defines Western in this case? I assume for fans in the Western world, interpretations of what is 'Western' probably differs. A dev team in the US might interpret that and portray that 'Western feel' differently than a dev team in Europe, for instance. So I think it depends on how each of us fans interpret 'Western feel'.
As far as I could tell there was nothing wrong with the 'feel' of DMC (well, DMC1 and 3 at least, dunno about 4). Dante seems 'Western' enough to me. Sure perhaps he's a bit over the top in some ways, but I think that's just his character (though I have mixed opinions on how that 'goofiness' or w/e was a part of his character in 4... He went from a rebellious teenager in 3, to a somewhat more serious/mature, yet cocky badass in 1, *ignores 2, sorry*, then to somewhat of a goofball and smartass (from what I've seen) in 4. *shrug* - Just how I personally have interpreted his character growth...)
Anyway, pardon the rant.

Your rant is fine with me, it actually feels a bit relieving to read someone rant about stuff that pisses me off as well 
Duh, I don't know what Capcom understands as "Western feel" anymore. I used to think it means they want the game to be less DMC3/4-like and more like DMC1 (which openly stated that Dante lives in the US, for example), but now it seems they just understand it as "bad, punk/emo taste". From what I've seen, this new "Dante" is still kinda over the top, throwing cars and whatnot, but it all seems forced and again, bad taste. He lacks the style and the awesomeness that justify being over the top, imo.
Besides, DMC4 still felt quite Western compared to other Japanese games like Dynasty Warriors, Soul Calibur... or even Bayonetta, I think.

LOL. Hm~ I hadn't really considered that...
I actually never finished DMC4 (I have the PC version, but I guess lack of a controller is what's keeping me from finishing it), but also, I couldn't really get into Nero/his story, so... :S
There's something else I have in mind though, that could possibly include Nero, though I dunno if I'll draw it out...
Anyway I dunno, we'll see...!
