It's not the most mind-blowingly unique design, but they did what they could. Look at the blades on its nose that it can retract; I haven't seen any fake Mega Sharpedo do something cool like that. It shows GameFreak tries their best.

Yes, but it's not just a big Sharpedo with stripes. They added the blades on the nose so it has something special. That proves GameFreak tries to make the design original.
Besides, Sharpedo is a really simple design and hard to change while still making it look like the same PokΓ©mon.

This whole paragraph is stupid. You said Mega Sharpedo is simple yet there are other Megas that are far simpler than Sharpedo's. "Spikes and stripes"? What did Mega Kangaskhan get? Nothing. The baby stepped out for a little walk. In terms of "simplicity", Mega Garchomp and Sharpedo are probably on the same level. Their designs are good enough. So stop nit-picking about "simple" things.Β

Here's how: I said you're contradicting yourself. Why? Because first, you said all Sharpedo got, were spikes and stripes. Now, what did Garchomp get? Blades. But wait, it's only his EXISTING claws, that turned INTO blades. Did Sharpedo have spikes before? No. It's a new ADDITION to the design. Not a change. So what point am I making? Both Pokemon either received something new or had a change to something existing. They've still received a similar amount of change. Conclusion? Just you MENTIONING Mega Garchomp was a contradiction. Well, Slowbro was derpy and it got derpier, I don't see a problem with that. Sharpedo on the other hand was a cool looking shark. It had a clever design, fusing torpedo and shark but the mega is just awful. This is something I would draw when I was 5 years old. They just added spikes and stars and a bigger jaw. The only thing I like about it is maybe the side of its mouth.
