Suppose to be he was gonna have a silver armor, buuuut gold is mostly rich in Shurima culture. Armor was inspired by Artorias, slightly.

Wow... did he make that armor himself? It looks really cool, but it feels more bronzed than golden. Also, he is quite the cute debonair bird; i'm sure his mom the geisha is going to give him plenty of lessons about how to woo possible suitors.
