Haha! That happens to me all the time! To help out with my brother, every now and then I help him sell alpacas (animals kinda like Llamas) at fairs and such and by mid afternoon we are both ready to stab someone for the amount of conversations that go "Look honey its a Llama!" "No m'mam it is an Alpaca, different than a Llama." "Oh isn't the little Llama cute!" *place head banging here* or other conversations such as "Hey where are you guys from?" *My bro and I look at the GIANT banner hanging right in front of us that has are address in huge letters on it than we reply "Hey do you like to read? Reading is fun! Why don't you try it out by READING the FREAKING BANNER!" I think anyone would agree if we killed it would be because of insanity!

Hah! I work in a pharmacy (drugstore?) and this happens a lot. One lady comes up to the counter (with all the painkillers in clear view behind it, on special, in pharmacy) and asks me if we sell painkillers. Or the American bloke that asked, in all seriousness, if we knew where he could find a drugstore.

I think he didn't know Australian drugsotres are called pharmacies... but there were drugs everywhere, so you'd think... eh.

I like to take them to the cooking section.
Because they are NEVER looking for the cookbook section.

Haha. Instead of resulting in murder and or cannibalism (which I somehow got from that) you could always just give a stupid answer.

I have the enviable, high pay, jet-set lifestyle of working in McDonalds.
I don't think I'll ever understand what was going through the mind of the customer who asked, in all seriousness, if we served food.

When I worked at my town's library, I got asked CONSTANTLY if I worked there. While I was actively shelving books...or pushing a cart full of them...

I wish. My town's library is so dumb that that they don't have us wear even a color-code. OR a tag. I love the lax dress code, but I think we should have tags that read "student shelver" or something. We aren't even SUPPOSED to help the dumb patrons, I got in trouble about three times for doing so, because all we're supposed to do is act dumb and point them to the "reference desk". Heck half the time at least, the patron (and VERY FEW patrons followed the point to the desk, most just left... ) would COME BACK TO *ME* because the Ref. desk confused the shit out of them or didn't give them good directions.
