i honestly dont know why, but this peice touches me. i guess thats why art is so elusively powerful. yeah, i cant explain, its just good. is it the symbolism of steps and moving on in life? or is it the powerful contrast in the simplistic black and white shades? its just evocative, and its art. good job.

sorry but it dont think it is so good...
when you use upright format you usually want to make a point of something growing. but here you have falling lines.
it is okey if you have them, but only as long when you have some point of interest in the upper part.
so my suggestion is to put an object or something in the upper part to put in the balance composition.
what kind of object?
well i dont know...something to get story out of it. maybe a dool, book....

other than that i like it a lot!

dShaw [2004-03-20 04:08:00 +0000 UTC]

This is a bit basic for my taste. The only things that seem interesting in this piece are the shadowy, black lines of the steps that move back in space. Perhaps if you panned out a little bit? And I don't understand the title. Maybe if you put a footprint in the snow, then I would understand the context in which it is used, but.. I don't know. I just think that there needs to be more. Other than that, it's very crisp and has a nice simple border.

Ah, is that a roof? I couldn't tell. Again, I still think there needs to be more to it.

The strong diagonals are what make this brilliant. The snow is so very well detailed, and the shadows are mindblowing (in between each panel section).
