A quick experiment for a new design for Shadow.I haven't changed much. I decided to change his species from a hedgehog to a tenrec.

There are some rumors that Shadow was originally going to be a tenrec. I don't know what the validity of those rumors is. Anyway, I decided to change his spine pattern and ears to further seal the idea that he is different from a hedgehog. I didn't want him to look like a Super Sonic recolor any longer.
I would also have made it where he isn't fast like Sonic or strong like Knuckles. His specialty would still be Chaos Powers, but he wouldn't be overpowering compared to the other characters.

I think a Tenrec would've served a better contrast between him and Sonic, but still had it's resemblance to one and another as well.
A neat work having a longer quills on Shadow as i would imagine to be a bit longer than Sonic's, and the rest is solid enough.

That's what Shadow is supposed to be, just like Tails is supposed to be Sonic's sidekick and best friend and Amy is supposed to be Sonic's love interest.

Amy's not supposed to be Sonic's love interest. Amy is Sonic's fan-girl character. That young girl who's always trying to get their hero's attention despite the fact Sonic himself isn't into settling down for romance.

Amy IS Supposed to be Sonic's love interest. She was created to be Sonic's designated love interest and girl friend. Sonic not being interested in romance is how their dynamic is supposed to work, but she is still his Love Interest.Β

That doesn't make her the love interest. No Sonic pairing is ever meant to be canon in the games, as this would stricken the imaginations of the audience. Amy is Sonic's fan girl, but also considered just a friend to him. Perhaps in comics, shows, and other media may have her be the love interest [like Sonic Boom] but in the canon, no one is anyone's love interest, specifically.

For one thing, you can't claim something like that without proof. And another thing; That's not love, though. And it's especially not proof of 'love-interate'. That's one-sided attraction/crush. There is a gigantic difference.

I told you, it was stated in an interview by the guy who designed Amy for Sonic CD. I'm pretty sure the Interview was either at a Sonic Boom event a few years ago or for the rerelease of Sonic CD a few years ago. Look it up.Β

Dude, no offense, but neither Hedgehogs OR Tenrecs should have quills and ears like those; and Shadow isn't a Super Sonic re-color because re-colors are FAN-MADE rip-offs of original models. Shadow looks enough like a Tenrec the way he looks today. I'm not trying to be rude, but Shadow is a character from SEGA to be best left alone ESPECIALLY since he has a gun.

Also, a character can be a recolor whether it's official or not. It's all about the design, not its origin.

This could work for a fan character, but not Shadow. Doesn't look right.
He's also supposed to be strong and fast! Strength is a physical trait, speed is probably both physical and from the shoes. I mean, he wouldn't be the ultimate life form if he was under powered (or powered for a fan character).

Bringing up that point, I probably would have prefered if he had not been given the label of "ultimate life form". Seems kind of an excuse to make him better than all of the other characters.
