Everyone's going on about the flag, but that's not the discordant part (Who hasn't worn another nationality's flag at some point?) no, the thing that bugs me is the damn salute. Tracer was British RAF before the accident, British military salute with flat palm out, not palm down like Americans.

Not really... the flag is a stylistic choice, the salute is a genuine error; i.e. Tracer might wear an American flag shirt, but she is much less likely to salute incorrectly.

Wearing the flag of another nation doesn't mean you represent them, especially the American flag, which gets slapped on just about anything nowadays (Not that the Union Jack isn't guilty of this either).
I've worn shirts with American, Japanese and Brazilian flag decals in the past, doesn't make me any less British.

Maybe the costume is in works at the moment. There are casual-cosplays as well. This might be one of them. I think it's great either way.
