This is LS 03. The 3rd large set I've made. A light pastel violet that gradated to a deeper violet with a bit of gold fleck. Consists of the large necklace, fake gauge earrings and a bangle bracelet. It took about 30 hours to create. This set sold at SDCC 13'.

My jewelry is made from polymer clay and triple glazed with polyurethane. I hand sculpt ever part and don't use any molds. My earring posts and backs are Stainless/Surgical steel and great for people with sensitive ears!

I've thought about designs with that, but I'd have to make them out of a different material. Or it would just sit around the shoulders and collar bone and the person wearing it would have to be careful with it. I think once I can experiment with air curing clay that might be more of a possibility.

Yes. I do three coats of a polyurethane glaze. Extremely time consuming but worth it!

Polymer clay is great for jewelry! It's a bake-able plastic. Not as durable as a resin cast or something, but it holds up amazingly.

Be sure that your baking it through completely. I know I used to under bake items because I was worried about them burning. I still worry about that, but the items need to be thoroughly baked. Also, a good glaze is worth its weight in gold. I use a water based polyurethane on mine. It's a wood floor finish and you can get it at hardware stores. It comes in matte, satin and gloss. I use three coats on everything I make. Time consuming, but it adds a thick strong barrier to my work! I hope that helps a little.
