Actually, the naga are 7-headed serpentine dragons and not to be confused with the lamia (half-woman, half-snake). The most famous naga is Taksaka, a once evil naga king who was reformed by Buddha and now acts as his protector. If you look at the Buddha statues in real-life you'd see that some of them have a 7-headed snake-like creature or a giant cobra with multiple faces on its head standing behind him. I don't know why folks and even books made by westerners always get these 2 creatures confused. Either way, Rachel looks totally adorable as a snake lady.

P.S.~ 'Naga' in the Malay / Bahasa Malaysia language refers to "dragon".

Citation needed. I'm reading otherwise in some respectable sources.

My sources are from translations of ancient Hindu texts, not the Internet.

Evidently, the Hindu texts could vary.

Still, the ancient Eastern Indians knew the difference between a Naga and a Lamia. Confusing the naga with the lamia is like confusing the siren with the harpy (which is like confusing the ocean with deserts and mountains, or confusing Greece with Egypt and Arabia).
