A simple close up of a Damselfly at rest on a flower.

Fortunately the Damselfly was very amenable, so it let me gently poke into a nice position, then sat there patiently while I photographed it. I think it might have been a bit cold for it, hence it was rather sleepy. I took a whole series of pictures, unfortunately for most of them the body was in focus but the eye was blurred. I always look to eyes in pictures first, I think it's just a natural reaction, so even when the rest of its body and wings were sharp pictures with the eyes blurred just didn't look right. In the end I went for this one with the head and torso sharp and the body going into the distance - I think the colour of the Damselfly makes a very nice compliment to the colour of the flower.

I've cropped the image down but you've not lost anything exciting, just some more blurry green background.
