Description
I was looking at my old post for the Doll Model and realized it is way outdated for the ideas I currently have and does NOT fit in with the tone of the story I want to go with, so I'm redoing the entire thing I wrote back then. The old version can be found here .Doll models are one of the four most common robot model types, and is the most domestically used out of those four. They are made to look as human as possible, but according to law they still must be distinguishable from humans, so doll models are equipped with constantly glowing irises that may be dimmed in brightness, but never fully disabled. A doll model's purpose can be very versatile, but most doll owners use them as personal companions. They can be used as a personal servant or secretary, someone to help take care of the house, or just someone for a lonely owner to talk to.
Dolls are easily the most customizable robot model, thus their name "doll". While there are default presets that come cheaper, those who pay extra have the option to customize their doll however they want, including changing gender, height, weight, voice, skin color, eye color, hair color, hairstyle, personality and etc. If a company cannot provide specific changeable features, usually an independent robot modifier can further tweak the model to someone's likes. However, all of this has a rather hefty price, so doll models are seen as a status symbol among humans. Owning one is seen as a display of wealth, and usually the more unique and fancy the model, the wealthier the owner.
There are some limitations to doll models, however. In accordance to the Necessary Servants Act of 1958, doll models are not permitted to have a job. They are exclusively limited to house management and companionship functions. And while able to simulate emotions spectacularly, they still cannot feel emotions without the Prometheus Code. They are also considered the most physically fragile out of all the robot models, as their skin is barely stronger than human skin and have less protection over their internal components.
Fun Facts:
- Like all robots, they must have glowing eyes, but their signature color is pink, as most dolls are given pink eyes as default
- They are usually referred to as "dolls" in most places, but in other regions they might be referred to as "brownies" considering their functional similarity to the fae creature of the same name
- Child doll models do exist, but they are very rare to find and most companies don't produce them, due to low demand and potential bad publicity

Why does she have to be a slave bot who's black in the first place is the question you should really be asking lol.
...I've been getting into a lot of racial debates in my college classes recently.

because literally all my robot characters so far don't look very human and the only one that does is already white, so I wanted visual diversity because having two robots be the same race with just different hair colors would look extremely boring and since Lucy's already been established in the comic I can't change the role of this one.
