I would comment on how much I don't like the shading in this shot, buuuuut... I kind of realized that there wasn't much in the park that would give any shade. Also that last panel isn't literal, more like exaggerated perspective.Also kudos to anyone who gets the reference in this page.

Just a suggestion: On this page, I feel it would help strengthen the feeling of fear Pin is experiencing if the background wasn't such a cheery shade of blue and the light was so bright. The last frame was good with its tone, but the grey people felt too out of place and alien-like against the happy, springy background. Their representations would make more sense if the same background was presented more darkly, perhaps with a sort of tunnel vision effect, so that we could understand sooner that they're abstractions of the people Pin is around. As it is, the setting is too open and "welcoming," I suppose. Perhaps it would help if the objects (trees, flowers, etc.) were drawn more distorted too. Of course, you wouldn't want to jump to that immediately. You'd want to gradually increase the distorted view so as not to confuse your readers.
But what do I know? I'm just an underachieved writer.

I really suck at background characters, admittedly. I wanted to make it cool but I wasn't sure how to transition here so it's kind of a bad tone shift. Though in hindsight I could have progressively darkened the background with each panelβ¦
