Description This was a lot funnier in my head not gonna lie

Based off a really dramatic scene in the I, Robot movie. I wrote OMAM the way it is because I'm super sick of how robots are treated in western sci-fi, like how everyone thinks they'll overthrow humanity or some crap. Then there are some people who write it as "oh no they're actually just like us but we still hate them because bias" which is like, okay I can get behind that BUT they never show the robots acting like real people! Even Detroit has this problem where Markus and Kara just have these really bland personalities, no likes or dislikes, no sass. At least Connor shows some semblance of having interests by trying to match Hank but it technically doesn't count because he was copying a human being. Literally the only story (made in western regions) that I can think of that portrays robots like actual people is Overwatch. Bastion and Zenyatta have very defined personalities, and at least Orisa has an excuse for being a month old. Even Lynx from the Zarya comic had flair and sass to him.

Sorry for the rant but TL;DR - GIVE YOUR ROBOTS PERSONALITIES, DAMMIT

My friend's robots are probably the characters with the most personality. Irony.

Well I only read the second half of it, but it feels like they killed whatever personality Vision had and now its nothing but him being "philosophical and deep" about being a robot.Β  And he created a family for himself, and they all look like him, with names that start with "Vi" and sometimes do annoying things like repeat words for no reason.Β  And they completely shat on Victor Mancha, a character originating from another comic who I had really liked.Β  Here he's suddenly depressed over being a robot (something that never bothered him before) so he gets a dumb drug addiction, and somehow accidently kills Vision's son, and later gets killed by Vision's wife.

So yeah, I hated it, but for some reason lots of people loved it

UGH I HATE IT WHEN THEY DO THAT

Just making a robot spout philosophical BS, in so many conversations it just doesn’t sound natural, and how does any robot convince a human of being equal if they don’t act naturally?
