Nice shot!

It is a chipmunk, though, not a squirrel. Have a look at the white vertical stripes.

it is Indian palm tree squirrel they have stripes we do not have chipmunks here in India
we have Giant Indian squirrel it is largest tree squirrel weights around 2 to 2.5 kilograms it doe snot have stripes
our tree squirrels either have three stripes in south of India or 5 stripes in north of India (you must be from north america, of the 25 species of chipmunks in whole world almost 21 are from north america )

I am from North America indeed! I know most of the chipmunks live on here.
I am very sorry for my mistake, I didn't know that some species of squirrels have stripes, it is the first time I hear about it. So, your squirrels cannot put nuts or plenty of food in their cheeks?
Thank you for the detailed information, it is very interesting! I have a DA friend who is Indian too and he tells me about the squirrels in general in India (he is feeding some with bananas) but he never took a picture of them.
Btw, I went to your page and I collected some shots of your squirrels, they are beautiful!

this one is mainly lives in nest on trees and not in burrows as the ground squirrels its jaws are different than chipmunks in north america at least you are not only american to call it chipmunk more fro wikepidia

no this one is indian palm squirrel
more from wikepidia
this is common question from rest of the world

Tree Squirrels
The common North American tree squirrel rarely has stripes, but some squirrels in other areas of the world do. The Indian palm squirrel has a mixture of black and cream stripes across its back. It is native to India and Sri Lanka and also been introduced to Australia. The similar northern or five-striped palm squirrel can be found throughout India, Iran, Nepal and Pakistan. Both of these squirrels make their homes primarily in trees.

Chipmunks
Chipmunks, members of the squirrel family, are set apart by the way they gather food. These rodents are known for their ability to stuff their cheek pouches full of seeds and grains to take back to their burrows to feed their young or to store for the winter. All but one of the 25 species of chipmunk are found in North America, and all have stripes across their backs and sometimes their tails. They range in size from under from less than 8 inches long for the least chipmunk to up to 11 inches for the Eastern chipmunk.
that is common questions from other par of the world so this is from the net it looks very much like chipmunk

we do have giant indian squirrel is called shekru in locally if i get its photo i will certainly post it it weight almost 2 kg i have not seen it so far
