in my mother tongue marathi it is called 'popat'
and in hindustani or hindi it is our national language it is called 'tota'
although tota and myana are all together different species they are always linked together as pair of lovers there are many stories describing tota myana love

you wont believe they were sold for say 5 or 10 buks in my child hood now they may be charging not more than 100 buks may be in city they may charge 500 buks
they are favorite because they imitate the sound that we make they can not talk but still people beleive

still they are abundant not like owls they were killed for black magic now we are left with very few of the owls the worst part is their eggs were used for black magic

this may help you

The Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri), also known as the Ringnecked Parakeet, is a gregarious tropical parakeet species that has an extremely large range. Since the trend of the population appears to be increasing, the species has been evaluated as Least Concern by IUCN in 2009.[1]
Rose-ringed parakeets are popular as pets. Its scientific name commemorates the Austrian naturalist Wilhelm Heinrich Kramer.[2]
This non-migrating species is one of few parrot species that have successfully adapted to living in 'disturbed habitats', and in that way withstood the onslaught of urbanisation and deforestation. In the wild, this is a noisy species with an unmistakable squawking call

believe me its was shoot from my balcony of my house in dombivali on my last visit my house is on 2nd floor of 4 story building surrounded by many more apartments it was in open and i was told it comes there daily same time (i am going to check it on my next visit)
