I think I remember seeing a small comic about that...
You know thinking about it, we already saw Makuta reveal himself to be Dume about ten minutes before he revealed himself to the Toa. If who he was was supposed to be a plot twist, why not get rid of the first reveal scene? That way, when Makuta revealed himself to the Toa, we would be shocked as well, making the scene more effective.
And this is what film classes and watching commentaries has made me do...nitpick and critique children's films...
