I actually haven't seen an episode of Adventure time beyond the original short, but I absolutely adore the gender-inverted designs. They are for the most part super perfect.Besides that, what you're looking at here is essentially this picture redone 4 years later and, uh, with a certain key difference

Why does everyone depict that blue-shirted character as female? I thought it was a guy. Granted, I've never seen the show, nor heard anyone's voice. I've only seen the original trailers a couple times without any sound.

The blue dude is normally called Marceline (here depicted as "Marshal Lee") and she actually IS female in most Adventure Time episodes! These versions are gender inverted versions of the main characters that were featured in one of the earlier episodes this season, and this was drawn in anticipation of that.

They did an episode where all the characters were in the opposite gender (and in the case of Jake the yellow dog, he also changed into a cat named Cake).
