Description
Shot from my Saxxy 2013 entry. Up now! steamcommunity.com/sharedfilesβ¦
Everything, just like my other shots, are hand-animated, except for the medic reaching for his face, that's a default animation.

The animation is flawless. Color balance is perfect and the scenery fits very well with the animation.
Nicely done!

was that relatively easy to make? Is SFM pretty easy to use?

It is easy to make, but then again I have had courses in 3D animation.

I'd just love to get a nice screenshot or image of the model and put its wallapaper everywhere.

Now THAT is some good action choreography!Β
I wonder, how long did it take to animate the Spy alone?

A couple hours...I didn't do it all at once so I don't remember...I animated just him and then left to do other scenes, came back and added the enemies, and then did his weapons and clothing and scenery.

I see. So he was fully animated before the enemies and props were added in?Β

Yeah, I usually have an idea of what I want him to do...I put a floor model down so that I have a ground reference for his feet and then I put in 3 enemies in the positions where he's theoretically hit them...but I don't worr yabout animating them yet. Then I do all of his poses and stuff (with no reference, might I add Such is the talent of a former martial artist) and then I do the other people. Occasionally this technique doesn't always work...sometimes I have to take turns animating both characters because of how complicated the choreography might be. This one here is simple...the enemies are not fighting back, only dying.
