Description EDIT: rescanned and added a border.

Vaedryn the guardian can't seem to face the fact that he is a protagonist. By the way, I HATE how his face turned out. If you want to see a better example, please view [link]

I got his right arm wrong. On his left hand, you'll notice two fingers are cut in half, which is intentional (shield block accident)

Yes, he is the most sinister looking of the characters, and has a dark past. He is considered and anti-hero, for he is both good in intention and noble, but hates himself. In fact, he denies the girl of his dreams (the girl he was ordered to protect) because he believes he can protect her from just about anything except himself.

Yes, he does have some emotional disorder, but he anyone who sees him takes him as heartless and cold (never expresses emotions, never laughs or get angry) because of his age and experience he is mature enough to be able to disguise his insecurities, but at times the empathetic and merciful Gwen (the girl he guides, trains, and protects) asks him about his past and why he hates himself so much. Vaedryn had done plenty of heroic things in the past, but he disregards them and says "it was but my duty" all the time.

Ultimately, Gwen is his cure and his one desire. He tell her as well that what he does for her is 'just duty' but she refuses to believe that.

Yes, and as the story goes along, their stories seem to switch. Though his personality remains much the same (cunning, calculating) he confides in Gwen his secrets and his wisdom, for there comes times when Gwen has difficulties (internal and external) and he is the only one who can help her. But I will say no more. You'll have to wait until I've finished writing it!
