Description
Done for Amorra AU Week Day 6
Day: Crossover - Attack on Titan
Theme: Game
Because of course I'm going to crossover my two OTPs.
- Commander Noatak, the calm, far-seeing man who will stop at nothing to make sure humanity is freed from its cage. His charisma, strategy, and skill on the battlefield have made him a force to be reckoned with – though he has stepped on the toes of the Metalbending Military Police (currently run by his estranged brother, Commander Tarrlok) many times in his quest for freedom from tyranny.
- Captain Korra as the volatile Avatar AKA “Humanity’s Strongest.” To many, her supernatural strength and abilities make her the hope of humankind, though she’d rather just do her job and fight for humanity’s freedom than be worshipped or idolized.
The two were at odds, at first, but Noatak blackmailed Korra into joining his cause, seeing great potential in her. While Korra initially hated Noatak, she learned to respect his intelligence, and, seeing for herself the fight humanity was up against, decided to willingly stay with his cause. Many fights together on the battlefield have led to a strong bond between them, and that trust eventually blossomed into a secret relationship.
Now, they look out over Republic City, the innermost city of the walls, as Noatak puts his most extreme plan yet into action. The Military Police have grown too complacent, and Noatak hopes that encouraging a titan fight within the city itself will win the sympathies of Tarrlok, who has never been on the front lines before; maybe if he sees the death and destruction for himself, he will forget the politics and safety of the government and band together with them to fight for humanity’s freedom.
Korra watches on uneasily. The game is on. If this plan goes awry, thousands could die (including Noatak, if he’s convicted of treason), but their situation has become so desperate that she trusts Noatak to do what is, ultimately, in humanity’s best interest. If this opens Tarrlok’s eyes, then he and his soldiers will become powerful allies, and that could tip the balance in humanity’s favour.
I’ll trust him that this destruction will ultimately save more lives than it ends, thinks Korra, her fists tightening. He always sees a few steps ahead of the rest of us.
