Hmm...I looked at the pics you linked to me. Well, I've got to say....they look very second edition. And that's not necessarilly good. I really REALLY don't like the second edition models for the Nids. I like them looking more feral, less humanoid. I'm digging the new scythe design, though. But I don't like the protrusions on it's back. And I REALLY don't like that bone sword thing. I've always liked the idea of integrated weapons MUCH more than the seperate weapons. Personal preference, I guess. I'm liking the horn on it's head, but not digging the lack of the bone crest. *sigh* Well, I still have my third ed. Tyrants. Thanks for snagging pics of these beasties! I'm sorry if I've offended you with my preference for third ed. Nids. It's pretty cool to get to see the new models, though! WHOO!!

I'm not offended, I didn't make the models.
That said, I still have a fondness for the 2nd edition models. The third edition tyrants look too much like the queen from Aliens to me. But then the 3rd edition ones look great with wings, while this would look really weird with them. I love the return of the pincer at the end of the tail for sure. I don't really miss the boneswords or even the lashwhips, to be honest, but it looks like those come as a pair in addition to one other weapon. So, it could be very effective! Another thing that doesn't totally show through in these photos... the model is like twice as detailed as the current tyrant! And it's as least as massive, if not even bigger. This thing really towers over other models. You can kind of make out the Brood Lord in the corner and he looks TINY compared to the tyrant. The brood lord is about the size of an ogryn, maybe a little smaller.
