why is it when I click the mushroom at the castle I go into the sky? Was that meant to be a button?

not too shabby, although combat in such an engine might be tricky because the character moves in squares. i prefer free movement, myself, with placements based on matrices.
still, beats out my own attempts so far. nice work. :3

Okay, all insulting chests aside, it's pretty good...but the style for chests and levers make it look akward, you walk around normally otherwise, but walking up things just makes you look like you can magically go over things...

This actually isn't a bad engine..

Small glitch found. If you try to use the first switch on the first screen you have to be in front of it before you can use it, which is confusing as you're able to walk over it. Took me a while to realise what was happening there. No issue with the second switch however, as you cannot walk onto that one.
