This is funny, but I'm confused. I clicked on a stamp in my friend's shoutbox that said "I only care about a person's sexuality if I want to have sex with that person," and it brought me here. I tried it a couple times and reloaded the page, but I'm still here.
Did you change the text of the stamp or something? Can I find the other stamp somewhere?

Well, I believe sex should be reserved for marriage, and these days people think it's alright to have sex with whoever you want to outside of marriage, whether it be a boyfriend/girlfriend or a complete stranger. Honestly, if people were to wait until they were married to have sex (and only have sex with their spouse), things like unwanted pregnancy and STDs would be reduced greatly.

That's just what you believe. That's a perfectly okay belief, but that doesn't mean having sex without being married is wrong.

There's nothing wrong with having sex before being married. Many, many people are very smart about it (use protection, get STD tested regularly, prepare for pregnancies just in case).

There are still moral and emotional problems with it, even if they're careful about the physical aspects like STDs and pregnancies. Honestly, I've heard married couples as a whole (although there are exceptions, of course, like with everything) have a happier sex life than those outside of marital bonds. It makes sense, too, seeing as you save that sacred part of yourself for one person and one person alone.

That isn't true. My uncle is in a relationship with his girlfriend and they never plan to marry. They have no emotional problems or moral problems.
Their sex life is great. Better than my parents' (who have been married for 22 years, I might add).
Just because my uncle and his girlfriend aren't married doesn't mean they aren't "saving that sacred part" for just one person.

Like I said, there are exceptions to everything, like your uncle and his girlfriend. The majority of the time, it isn't the case. I suppose I really can't find the right words to explain my views, because they're half logical and half part of my core beliefs. In the Bible it says "Thou shalt not commit adultery", and I believe that with all my heart.
That's why I don't like this stamp - it's so casual about something as intimate, sacred and personal as sex, the way our world is so casual about it. I blame the 70's for that, though...

That isn't true, though. It isn't "the majority of the time", even. Most people who have sex are *gasp* ADULTS WHO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING!
They don't suffer any emotional stress over it and they shouldn't. They have sex with people they like and there really isn't a damn thing wrong with that.
It's cool if you want to wait for marriage. Everyone's allowed to have sex whenever they feel most comfortable (or not at all, even). But it's significantly less cool to say that other people are "wrong" for having sex before marriage.

I don't care about what's cool - I care about what's right. Sex is far more significant than people make it to be. It's the way children are born, and people abusing that by having sex outside of marriage make a mockery of something wonderful.
