Description
Fantasy β steampunk model of a scientific balloon (well it's mostly gondola and i admit that it looks a little like a Bathyscaphe). After i finished i got the feeling that i've seen something like this before. After a while I remembered β it looks remarkably similar to submarine (and a spaceship) of Profesor Nerwosolek from T. Baranowski comic book

Ohhh...the bathyscaphe angle is great, it gave me ideas. The shutter windows too.
...wait, do the blue spikes do anything? Because if they do, we may have some similar ideas about teslapunk space vessels.

I would be worried of having the flag cut off

Yes very much like First Men in the Moon, or a bathysphere. Well done, the glow from the lights bothers me a little, doesn't seem to match the overall feel of the image. Nice details on the plates.

I like the windows... Both the camera-like shutters on them and their position on the thing..
also, this would take an insane amount of gas to lift.

favorite sphere i like the soud of it. I've looked at the stills of a cavorite sphere and i concur that it is a little bit similar (it's a brass sphere) but the spheres from the movie where made of quadrangles when my is made of hexes, quadrangles, and decagons.

The Gondola also does look quite reminiscent of the Joseph Cavors moon capsule used in the movie of H.G. Wells "First men on the moon".
I do like your design. It's pretty beautiful executed, though I find that dish-thingie infront a bit overdone, looking more like something from a childs toy I'm afraid.
Other than that, well done!

That's "cavorite sphere"; auto-correct strikes again.

Meanwhile, a Google image search for "favorite sphere" will get you some still pictures.
And I concur about the excellent appearance of your craft.

I just discovered that there is also a bbc miniseries remake from 2010. But I mean the original from 1964.
