The show ended on a cliffhanger and it's sad because it deserved an ending.

So, I've come to a decision of a cut off point I believe would have made a decent close.

Both choices are during the Klendathu campaign, the assault on the Bug's home world.

The choices:

"Letters Home" - (from misterhook.tripod roughnecks site) A genuinely touching story, determination in the face of hopelessness is always a good foundation to build dramatic tension on. Each "letter" home was well thought out and none of them were sappy. I was particularly impressed with T'Phai and Gossard's letters, both sequences gave additional insight into their characters. Carmen's letter helped flesh out her character too. Loved how it looked like Razak was going to knock the camera out of Higgins' hands before he points out his "family."

Higgins: Sir, I never got a chance to ask. Did you want to say something to the folks on Earth? To your family?
Razak: (turns Higgins around so his camera points at the Roughnecks) This is my family.
I swear knowing the series ended on a cliffhanger, I'd have chosen this as a potential stopping point for the series.

"The Court Martial of Lt. Razak" - Day 165 of the Klendathu campaign and yes a clip show AND yes, supposedly the "final" aired episode. But I'm going by the war chronology, thank you very much. A bungled operation causes Razak to come under court martial trial. While a clip show, it still told a solid story. And when it ended, if it was final, it would've shown the perseverance of the Mobile Infantry and that there would always be hope.

To any fans of this less known sci-fi series, I call out to you and ask your opinions...
