For more information about the tests and why it’s specific Pokemon that were chosen for each of them:
The flame path, an eevee is the worst to pass it (even though friede did it) because an eevee isn't so fast or agile, even though being normal. An eevee has long amount of excessive "poof" fur, so a simply catch of fire will be bad.
Tightrope, a squirtle is the case, a squirtle hast a low amount of balancing talking about keeping himself on tight spots talking about his shell, if he doesn't balance, he may go backwards and fall.
Obstacle Race, Gin in this case, a shinx even though being electric and not fire type weak, their velocity its their source, while the jumping is relative to training, but the obstacles are way higher, so is making it harder and harder for a shinx to do it.
Electric Pool, this spot of 10 meters full of electrodes, a totodile has a breath that can throw some dew, provoking a reaction on the electrodes and may have a big possibility for him to get electrocuted.
