This was my entry for a contest held in January for a book called 'The Anime & Electronics Guide to Tokyo'. My friends Rik rikfuzz and Karsh skygallery entered as well. We thought it would be so cool if all 3 of our entries were used in the same book. And they were! My pic was used for the front cover, Rik did icons for the inside of the book and Karsh's illustration was used for the back cover.There was even mention of the book and photo of my cover image on a Japanese blog, check it out here! blog.livedoor.jp/geek/archivesβ¦
Piko is my original character~~! Just a bit of self-promotion. The girl is random, but now she kinda looks like a grown-up Pikapikahikaru (Piko's owner). Oh and I didn't draw the background, it's just a scenery tone that was scanned in with colour added on top. I had no time to do a BG because I had finished literally at the last minute!

Is there anything Wing cannot do? Waaahh *__* That's so awesome! Congratulations to the three of you, you guys should be so proud ^^ I love your character's outfit... When you design their outfits, do you look at modern styles, or other fantasy stuff? x3 Just wondering... Mebbe you get them from your head? 
Even if the background isn't coloured, you've used a lot of tone which gives a nice finish to it :3 Nice choice of colours too..
The bags look really realistic.. in fact i kinda wish i had them x3 Lol omg her socks! They rock! I want to buy similar ones soon..

Really nice colour scheme too, the only thing that's bothering me is her legs seem to be drawn 'from the side' when the rest of her body is moreso facing the camera, I feel as if her body should be turned more towards the side with her head turned to face us (with that lovely ^_^ EEE im shopping in TOKYO~! face) or the legs drawn more angled towards the camera, either way it doesn't seem to be noticable to anyone else except me so I might just have been looking at it for too long or something XD keep at it tho, you're definitly improving!
I assume she hasn't been 'Shopping in Tokyo' for very long considering the sheer lack of bags that she would be carrying had she been there for longer than an hour XD

You're right, her legs do look awkward considering the angle of her body and now that I look at it, the whole posture looks really odd. I don't really care enough to make changes but I will try to avoid this in the future and spend more time checking things are correct before finalising it. Unfortunately I couldn't do that with this pic since I had *very* little time to get it all done. XD Wish I could go shopping in Tokyo too

Meh - stop being so hard on yourself! The posture doesn't look anywhere near as you're making it out XD I think it would work absolutely brilliant if her body was slightly twisted to take account for the legs. Have you tried using one of those wooden posable figures? They only cost about Β£5 but they're brilliant if you want to check poses etc, unless of course you get one thats too cheaply made and you can rotate the head 360! XD It's still fantastic especially since you had so little time to do it in.
3 months of full time work even on bare minimum pay should get you in a 5 star hotel in Tokyo for at least a fortnight with some spending money too

People say I make things look shiny but I think your pics look more accurate in that particular area. You did such a wonderful job but I think what I like about this the most is that it almost looks like (and reminds PV of) an ad or some sort. It's kinda like the words "shop here" just scream out of this image. Excellent work -- It's wonderful really.
