Still waiting for the GITS Man Made Interface anime (movie?) adaptation.(The one featuring Motoko Aramaki, the 'child(?)' of Motoko Kusunagi and the Lifeform she 'merged' with in the original series.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but after seeing the trailer I'm not looking forward to this at all. In all honesty, the character design and animation is really bad. I mean... We're talking Clone Wars levels of bad here... I eventually warmed up to that show as they developed their story lines and characters, but still...
The main problem for me is that this seems to have taken the same route as the Arise series did by making Motoko look much younger than normal. In Arise it made some sense as she was still pretty young and had not yet joined Section 9. But with this series supposedly set a decade or more after the last time we saw her...? It just doesn't make sense.
Once again, sorry to be critical here... It's not the art - on it's own this image is great. But when you're working with a well known franchise as Ghost in the Shell, there are certain expectations. One of which is that the characters looks right... And this version of Motoko just doesn't...
She still looks much better than in the actual animation though...

True. She can change her body if she wants to. However, she has stated that the body we see her in during the first movie and the Stand Alone series suits her, implying that she has no desire to use any other body.
As for being stylised, I would say that the Clone Wars series was also highly stylised. And it looked like *******. Just my opinion, of course... In any case, I don't mind her being stylished. I don't even mind slight upgrades to her looks to reflect the changing times. What I don't like is that this makes her look much younger than expected. Rather than a tough adult woman, we get a gangly teenager.

It's a very big departure from the original SAC design...but then again, so was the original movie compared to the manga. The art itself is exemplary - but will SAC_2045 be a worthy successor to what is now a hallowed series? We'll see.
