The lyrics say "The road is a grey ribbon, white stripes, green edge". It's very poetic, but if you would see it, it's actually EXACTLY like that. The asphalt road looks like a grey ribbon, and there are white stripes painted on it (they work as traffic signs btw). The green edge stands for grass. :> It's really interesting they speak in metaphors.

but is that a playing on words, because "fun" sounds like "fahr'n" (a loanword to "fahren" engl: to drive), or did you comprehend "fahr'n" as "fun"?

Haha thank you! I'm aware that they're singing fahr'n and not fun :--) They've said in trillion interviews they loved driving on the Autobahn (and a 22 min love song about it proves that) but here I've drawn them looking quite solemn about it. sad sad sad on the Autobahn would've been too... sad.

yea, the autobahn is beautiful. they sing: "die Fahrbahn ist ein graues Band, weiße Streifen, grüner Rand" it means: "the carriageway is a gray layer, white stripes, green boarder". take a look at some autobahn pictures and you will see what it means.. its kinda beautiful
