Description
"Now be careful, this bridge is slippery!"
"Ha! Relax, this is nothing!"
Heyy, first of all, Happy New Year 2014 to you all!
So, I'm really sorry that I wasn't active for the past few months, but college really took over my art life D;
Anyway, I'm back! Well, for a while, at least, before I got back to college lol
Well, here's a painting I've been planning to do since around October 2013, and I only got the chance to do it now.
Featuring my OCs, Kev, Keaf, and Chelia, crossing a bridge made of tree
I kinda forgot how to paint at first because I haven't been painting since July lol, but thankfully all went pretty well.
Oh and please tell me if the picture is too dark or too bright, because it looks too different on my PC and on my laptop D:
Hope you like it! And hope I can make more arts in 2014!

mhh perhaps you could make some kind of tutorial?
it's more about the colouring...it looks great. if I try drawing something like that it always looks unrealistic.

love the concept
Great job on this
looks fantastic, and the shading and texture given to the rocks really allows for a great sense of depth! The characters look great too, and I love the female's happy-go-lucky pose

I love the detail put into this! The clear definition of foreground, middle-ground, and background is very distinct! THe slight radial effect used when painting the clouds aids greatly in the dreamy/adventure/fantasy feel I get from this piece! The methods used for shading the flora work great with a sense of surrealism, as well as somehow adding a touch of realism to the piece as well! The shine on the water looks fantastic, and the shading and texture given to the rocks really allows for a great sense of depth! The characters look great too, and I love the female's happy-go-lucky pose!
Overall I really love this piece! it is well executed and inspiring!!!

woah, first of all, thanks for taking your time to write your opinion on the art, really appreciated
yeah, this time I've tried to make the fg-mg-bg composition to look distinct, I'm glad you find it like that! I'm pretty happy with the clouds, the water, and the rocks myself, and I'm happy that you find those three appealing, too.
I'm glad that someone could enjoy the art and, moreover, be inspired from it. Thank you very much!

She's my (not) new OC, the travelling companion for Kev and Keaf, since I think they need some female on the group, so I added some sisterly figure for them
Actually had her since early 2013 but never really made proper art for her lol
thank you, but w-what masterpiece

kvcl In reply to resilverflare [2014-01-02 20:10:29 +0000 UTC]
lol noone ever saw her before, she stays on my head all this time
ah yess, the story itself is pretty inconsistent throughout the years lol, but in short, the story is pretty clichΓ©, though :
Arkev is the only son from a honorable earth wizard family in his country, but despite being an 18 yrs old guy, he still couldn't master a basic earth spells, and his father is really angry at him. He knows that he wasn't born with the power, and his true power is on plant spells, but he kept it hidden from his family and always sneak away to the town's forest at night to play with his power, until one night he saw Keaf, the forest spirit banished from the spirit world, falling from the sky. Then they started their journey lolwat
lol I know it's bad I've always wanted to make comics about them, though. I have planned the script for first chapter but never had time to draw it haha
You should touch your OCs! Maybe make an art for Katzie? haha
How are you though, can't wait to see 2014 arts from you!

lol I guess 2013 isn't our years, then xD
ohh I hope so!
thanks, but the funny thing is this is done quite fast, actually. Even faster than my previous ones, although this looks more detailed, idk why haha
and does this look too dark for you? My PC and laptop show different quality; in my PC it looks way too dark but it's normal in my laptop screen and I didn't know which one is the right one D:

haha maybe, I've always wanted to do some forest scenes after all, so maybe that makes me excited to finish this!
Ahh, thanks, nice to hear that, maybe my PC monitor is the problem, then. It's a very old monitor after all it's still the 'box' type of monitor, so yeah

Awww poor eyes! You must get a new one at first chance! One biggggg!! haha
I'm not sure if will transfer my current to U.K. or if I'll buy new one there later, but was thinking if I do will go for even bigger lols (I'm at 23'' now and makes a huge difference to drawing sobs, will Β definitely miss it at first 1-2 months xD)

kvcl In reply to stormygr [2014-01-01 15:09:39 +0000 UTC]
I know, right? Maybe need to save some money from now so I can buy a new one, then! I guess it's going to be one of my 2014's resolutions haha
whoa 23" is pretty big! Hmm, maybe you should check the price in UK first? If it's more expensive in there maybe you should transfer yours to there first and then after some times you could buy a new one xD

stormygr In reply to kvcl [2014-01-01 15:23:40 +0000 UTC]
Yes you must! You will be so happy the first time you will use it! ahahah
Yeah I'm still thinking about it, I'll leave my pc behind as a gift to mom, so was thinking not to take the monitor, she will enjoy the big screen too! lol
But guess will see first how much leftover money will have each month and decide
