Description A tunnel between the two platforms at Nationaltheateret train station in Oslo, Norway.

A panorama made out of 20 pictures taken in portrait format.

The rest of my metro/underground pictures can be found here

Entry for Zardos architecture contest [link]

Post-processing
Lightened, adjusted the wb and turned up the contrast a tiny bit on all the pictures in camera raw. Stitched them together with photoshop (automatic photomerge) and cropped. Added a curves layer for the whole picture (except for the coloured decorations on the wall), and one curves layer for the decoration.

Added a black and white layer set to screen (20%) on some parts of the wall/floor/roof. Also added two black and white layers for the whole picture except from the decorations. One set to overlay (100%) and one set to soft light (70%). Made some more minor curves adjustments on some parts of the picture.

This absolutely wonderful! Instant fav! I like the idea to achieve the effect, I will have to try it, just need to find something as cool as that tunnel, where is that anyways?

Kvikken In reply to rcmck [2008-12-03 08:47:12 +0000 UTC]

Thank you
The tunnel was originally a bit curved (if that's the effect you were thinking about ), but the panorama made it a even more curved, so I guess also a straight tunnel will become curved with a panorama.

The tunnel is at an underground train station in Oslo, Norway

What the...I can't add this to my colour coded favourites! No favourite for you!

Very nicely stitched, PS or an external program?

Didn't you read my descrpition ?
It's automatic photomerge in photoshop

So if you can't find a place to put it, you'll completely drop it? You are even worse than me

Samedi In reply to Kvikken [2008-11-28 07:33:32 +0000 UTC]

Yup! If something doesn't fit within my narrow frame of reference it does not exist! No way! No how!

Ah crap, sorry. Forgot your post processing info. You caught me in a quick deviation check from work, so I didn't properly read the description

This reminds me of the movie Creep down in the subway. Lovely shot really interesting.

I've never even heard of that film (and I did a search and didn't find anything either )
But I'm glad you liked the shot

It's a R18+ horror movie, it's been out for a few years now. I say go rent it at the video store if horror is your thing

Kvikken In reply to DrewHopper [2008-11-28 09:36:59 +0000 UTC]

I doubt I'll find it in a video store here when I can't even find the movie at IMDB
And if the tunnel in the movie looks like this one I'm not sure if I want to see it

It's on imdb: [link]

Great shot, would be interesting to see a full-colour version as well.

It is indeed, I have no idea why I didn't find it when I searched for it

It is in full-colour by the way

I love the modern/contemporary feel of this one. Very clean, sharp and conceptual. The angles and the focal points are very definite, and the color gives it a nice "eyeball" or "lip-like" feel. Are you going to put any of these pics on your website anytime soon? Or in a different gallery on your site? I enjoyed it very much.

I usually see all kind of weird things in pictures, but I can't really see the eye

tamarack1pines In reply to Kvikken [2008-11-28 09:20:31 +0000 UTC]

Um...Look at the middle of the picture in small view. The colors are the eye...The silver stripes above the eye is the eyelid and the smooth metal is the skin below the eye....Hope you see it better.
