Description
I think, this is a first time when I drew an actual place ( for reference I used this [link] ). There are mounds situated in Kernavė, a little city of Lithuania. Anyway, I drew this pic because of my parents requested to draw some place from homeland. Reason - a contest (?) "Po tėvynės dangum" (english translation: "under the motherland's sky"). I quite enjoyed working with this pic, but in the end result is... a sore thumb and a wish not to have any business with green for a whileSomehow, scaner doesn't cope with watercolour pencils and hardly do with woodless ones

haha, well I absolutely love the green colour in this one The emerald green fields and hills are real eye catchers^^ Too bad the scanner doesn't want to cooperate (figures)

I can understand why you're sick of green after making this It's a beautifull drawing, anyway

Wow, you have a real talent for drawing scenery! I love the expansive look this gives off, with the different levels in the hills, and the way the details get sharper in the foreground. Great job with the colouring, too! Your green pencils must surely have had a work-out with this.
I hope you do well in the contest.

ah, such a nice atmosphere you got here. It's really nice and I see you had more patience with this one.
If you want to scape from green, there are plenty of options: desert, city, ocean, universe, autum, winter. (those are the ones I recall right now )

Well, I had to. It was Mom's and Dad's request Hahaha, thanks for the tips Winter lanscapes seems challenging, same for cities
Autumn... Mmm, I need to save up some more patience - feels like, I'll go in to detalizmus with that theme (all those leaves and grass, rain).I allready have actual visions of those pics
BTW, maybe I should work more with requests at the free time (got to draw free landscape and a scenery of Great Britain (both A3 formats), black and white evil-grinning clown and Draco in stary background from Dragonheart). Anyway, thanks for options

This is very good. I love the black outlines being kept very thin and small. The shades of green are very appealing and pleasant, but the scanner has darkened a lot of areas.

It's difficult to perfect with a scanner. But it's always nice to see hand drawn art.
Did you win the contest?

Haha, the contest starts at February 16. Why so soon I did this entry? Reason - I had to draw one now, because soon my studies continue and I won't have time then). About winning... My mom is pretty confident that I could win . I am a bit more of a critical opinion
There could be better pics or ideas, you'll never know

Well if I was a judge, and if I was judging it based on how well one draws a location, then perhaps it may be best to either try somewhere familiar to the judges, or capture something with emotion, a subject like an animal... or something with an implicit message. I sometimes find genericness can be uninspiring.

Naw, I'm not putting any pressure on myself. I just have some ideas on prompt, which I usually go on doing quite some time after

Let your imagination ponder over ideas, it's how they can grow.
