These will be free and up for grabs since I created them to promote my work (the printed version has my DA on it). I decided to make them bookmarks so people would actually have a reason to want them.... Hopefully.
I'm aware that this kind of art might not be exactly anime con material - it's subdued and rough instead of clean, shiny and colourful, so it might not attract much attention from con goers in general. But I decided I'd rather go for something that really says something about me as an artist, rather than trying to do something that wouldn't be nearly as much fun or true to myself just to fit in. And who knows, I might actually be surprised.

I know it doesn't exactly matter now since the con is over, and I've never been to a con, but I admire sticking to your own style. I wish people appreciated that more, instead of the shiny mainstream stuff. Art's about being able to express yourself, so kudos to you for striving toward that.
Point of art aside, I love Runaways. My friend kind of indoctrinated me in, and I've never regretted it. Wonderful, natural, stylistic tribute! Great job.

Just colored pencil. The only thing I slightly altered in Photoshop was the hue.

Ahhhh, I LOVE the Runaways. I love the oranges that you chose to go with the linework. It really makes it lovely. I've always liked Lucy in the Sky, personally. Funny, when I first looked at JUST the thumbnail here on my watchlist, I thought, "Uh, those characters look like the Runaways!" So, even teeny, I could recognize them.

Maybe not con material, but at least you distinguish yourself with it (but you said that yourself already). I've always liked originals more than fan art and the so-manieth-thing-in-the-trendy-style anyway, so you've got my vote. =]

Mega stylish and hella awesome. The orange shadowing really make the characters' silouettes pop.
Seeing it the otherway around... perhaps the rough wildness of this will be the factor that attracts attention, among all the other cleanly rendered pieces?

Dude, don't worry about whether or not it's "con material." The people that go to the AA's just want art. I know some people that sell prints of their sketches just fine (I bought one once too lol). Also, putting them up for grabs should mean more people will walk away with one. (:
