Description
Well. I'm back from New York! Anyway, I was lucky enough to see what is probably the best comic book adaptation I have ever seen, V for Vendetta. I read the comics about six months ago, and I never thought the movie would be as good, and even sometimes, better than the comic (please don't kill me!) Anyway, the character of V was just perfectly played by Hugo Weaving (agnet smith in matrix and Elrond in LOTR), and the chemistry between Evey (Nathalie Portman) and V was just perfect!V is certainly the most interesting comic book character I have ever seen! My top favourites being Magneto, Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Doc Oc, and Hartigan!
Here is my tribute to both characters, V and Evey. I did it while in my room in New York, watching desperate housewives in the bed and eating beef jerky.
Made with Watercolor, and modified with Photoshop CS. I hope you'll enjoy!

Kewl! I loved V for Vendetta, one the best comic books I've ever read. They did a good job with the movie, too. ".. Are you like a crazy person?" I like the composition of this a lot, and you nailed Evey's appearance.

I really love how you did this painting, especially since I'm a fan of the movie and comic! I really like how you drew Evey in that particular pose, and the over all detail is excellent!

Yeah! Greatest movie to come out this year, right along side the Matador. You captured the look of the GN in this piece, while getting a little bit from the movie. Very nice earth tones, that's what set the feel. V is one of my favourites too, since he has all the qualities of a revolutionary paired with a brilliant theatrical appeal. If you look at his book shelves in the comics, there is a second layer of intrigue, when you get to see Alen Moore's research list he compiled before writing the story. I've probably read 3/4 of them. Like Sir Thomas More's Utopia, which help set V's tone and word choice. ^_-
Now to add a side note. Hugo Weaving aka, Alex Kepp, is actually Sam O'Niel. It's the trifecta of balding, middle age men who look exactly alike, act alike, and sound alike. And to add to this, they all appeared in the Matrix in the same scene! If you don't remember, O'Niel is Dr. Grant from Jurassic Park, and Alex Kepp starred in The Triangle along-side Sam. "That's freaky shit right?" I'm convinced they are all the same man.
Oh, and ya left a white box around the image. (I love blending the BG colours of the site in my stuff. It gives it more comfortable, unified appearance.) Hard to see, but if one pays attention you might see it.

Oh! And if you want a more indepth look at the hidden story in the GN, this site does a good job of exposing it. [link]

Hi kyla,
Very nice to meet you and Thanks again for the comments,
about Sans Dieu, happy who you like it, but for me is a very orrible product, is not what really I want to do and we had alot of problems with the colorists....
Good luck for your projects, you deserve it!
Bye

thank you for your nice words!
Oh really? I'm sorry for sans dieu... I can understand, as I think it would be difficult for me to do a project that is not mine. Like doing the drawings or the colors for someone else's project... When you finish Sans Dieu, will you be able to do your own project? I hope so... Because that's really the best thing, being able to do your own personal little project!

thank you for passing by! well, in fact, I'm not published at all, I'm still an amateur... I live in Switzerland (I live in the same city as Valp, who is a friend) and I'm currently trying to publish my own comic here in europe.I've showed my stuff at a few publishers in AngoulΓͺme and one is really interested and read the storyboard. I had to do a few changes, and I'm waiting for them to approve the new version... I frankly don't think I have the experience to work with Darkhorse but I took your question as a compliment!
Anyway, I was very happy to see you are on deviantart! Your stuff is really nice!
