Description
"It seems strange that my life should end in such a terrible place, but for three years I had roses and apologized to no one. I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must NEVER let them take it from us. I hope that whoever you are, you escape this place. I hope that the worlds turns, and that things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you. Valerie. "Valerie from V for Vendetta. For

This is so touching. I have never read the graphic novel but that part of the movie almost made me cry...
The roses turned out wonderfully and I love the vibrant shade of red. I also love how her eyes are so striking against the greyish tint of her skin. It's a very beautifully laid-out piece!

Thank you so much for such a lovely comment.
Initially, I was most worried about the roses, but I think they turned out to be the best part of the piece. And I'm glad you like her eyes too; the actress has the most beautiful green eyes so I couldn't possibly leave them b & w.

Thanks ever so much!
My grey tone markers are starting to run out, so I almost had a complete stephy doing this.

This is absolutely stunning. I love the theater-style framing; alludes to the character's profession and to the "vicious cabaret" of the graphic novel. Beautiful, powerful piece. Good work, well done, Lu.

Sometimes I have to go through my gallery for references and occasionally I physically wince at the horrors that lurk within!
I am a complete perfectionist, though... To the point that it's silly.

I am too.I've had sketchbooks since I was about 10,and the only reason I don't throw the embarassing sods out is because if I look at them it makes me ridiculously happy that my anatomy now doesn't suck as much as it used to.

I dig that positive attitude!
I still have some pictures from when I was about 3 years old (good Lord, that was 17 years ago...). Now they were AWESOME.

My earliest art-related memory is when I made a couple of boys cry in Nursery because when we were drawing bumblebee's mine looked cuter than there's. O_o
My old drawings are complete SHITE.They're so cringeable! To think I'd never even thought about taking anatomy into consideration in art until I was TWELVE!

I'm blown away. It's beautiful. The flowers are stunning and contrast with the overall piece, Valerie looks sad and gorgeous, and V on the bottom is the perfect touch. The quote you've chosen makes me cry when I watch the film.
Thank you. So much.

I am so, so, so glad you like it. I had the general idea in my head for a couple of days, so I just sat down and drew it this afternoon. It's one of the most poignant points in the film and I wanted to make the piece striking too. It was an absolute pleasure to do for you. I am just incredibly pleased that you like it.
